As part of the Coffee Talks events held every Wednesday at Istanbul Gelişim University, on October 11, 2023, from 12:00 to 13:00, an interactive seminar on "Food Security and Sustainability in the Food Sector" was conducted at the Gelişim Tower Student Center. The seminar was led by Assoc. Prof. Kübra SAĞLAM, the Head of the Food Technology Program at İGMYO.

During the seminar, Sağlam engaged in a mutual conversation with students on topics related to Sustainable Development Goal 2, which focuses on ending hunger, ensuring food security, promoting sustainable agriculture, and providing nutrition. The discussion also touched upon how the university's implemented ZERO WASTE project could be applied in other areas of life.

The participants evaluated how the ZERO WASTE project at our university could be implemented in other aspects of life. The opinions of students who showed great interest in the seminar were gathered on potential projects related to this topic, and there was an exchange of ideas on what can be done for a sustainable society.

The seminar aimed to explore how sustainability practices in the food sector contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals and to encourage students to brainstorm and share their perspectives on potential projects for a more sustainable community.
